JHEWEL FELIPE

Born and raised on the Windward side of Oahu, Jhewel graduated as valedictorian of Kailua High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in studio art with a concentration in graphic design and double minors in business management and leadership and social media marketing from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, in 2017.

After graduation, Jhewel returned home and began working full time with KITV4 Island News, where she developed a passion for serving her community by providing the latest news and updates. Over the years, she has worked at KITV4 Island News, Aloha Stadium, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, 6 Pillars Marketing, Da Crew Production & Engineering Group, Bellows Air Force Station, the Hawaii State Senate and the State of Hawaii Department of Defense Public Affairs Office. She now works as a federal civilian in public affairs, using strategic communication and storytelling to keep the public informed.
 

Wherever Jhewel works, she strives to use her skills to stay involved in the community and make a positive difference. She is driven by growth and finds the challenge of wearing multiple hats to be a rewarding part of her career.
